But for now, my newest Fuji model is the X-E2, so I’m happy using Iridient, Affinity, etc., as I’m not facing the current support void of the X-T2. Bottom line for me is that I just don’t rely on Elements for RAW support and only use it for other processing features. I suspect this is meant to encourage Creative Cloud subscriptions. As you advance, though, you may miss one or another undocumented function. The 'surface' Photoshop Elements functions are quite sufficient for a beginner.
Some functions have been removed, while the others just stay hidden. It just seems like Adobe is always dragging its feet and causing confusion with Photoshop Elements, as if such users are second class. As you, probably, know, Adobe Photoshop Elements has not inherited all of the essential features of the full Photoshop. My Adobe software updater runs every day at some point, but it never offers me any newer plugin than v9.5 for Elements. The same listing says the latest RAW plugin for Elements is v6.7 (obviously very old by now), but when I check my own plugin for Elements, it is v9.5, but that is from Dec. The listing I read on MacUpdate says the Camera RAW 9.7 requires Creative Cloud or Photoshop CC, so apparently not usable with Photoshop Elements. As usual though, regarding Adobe, Photoshop Elements, and RAW support, further digging brings more confusion than answers.
